Tennis Elbow and Golfer’s Elbow are common elbow conditions that affect people in many walks of life – athletes, office workers, manual workers, students, retirees, stay-at-home, etc. Just about any repetitive movement that is done excessively can aggravate tendons of the elbow, and cause irritation, discomfort, or pain. Sometimes that irritation can take a while to heal – months or even years.
We are always looking for ways to improve our athletes condition and get them back to 100% quicker. Recently we heard of a new tool for help with elbow tendonitis – Fiix Body machine. It looks interesting, and seems to be one of its kind. At its core, it mechanizes a scraping movement that a therapist would do to a person with elbow tendonitis. That scraping movement (also known as Graston Technique, Gua Sha, or IASTM) is supposed to re-align muscle fibers, and remove scar tissue that is causing tendonitis. The device has a lot of good reviews, and also has a stamp of approval from USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) as “Official Tennis Elbow Device of the USPTA”.
The device is not cheap, but if it works, it would definitely be worth its price. We are going to try it out and report results here.
